Welcome to the Swan Inn at Stoford; a family run public house situated in the picturesque Wylye valley in south Wiltshire; just ten minutes drive from Salisbury and Stonehenge. Our building was built over 150 years ago as a Coaching Inn - a watering and feeding stop for the horses; drivers and passengers of the coaches traveling between Salisbury and Bath. The old beams in The Game Bar; our traditional English village public bar; shows it hasn't changed much since then; but the stables have made way for the Skittle Alley; and the inn's lodging rooms have been brought up to date as our En Suite Accommodation In addition; we now have the Cygnet Restaurant. A short walk through our neighbouring village Great Wishford leads you up to Grovely Woods; which is a great place to walk. Superbly situated in southern England's rural heartland. On the 'must see' list are the World Heritage site of Stonehenge; Salisbury Cathedral; Longleat and Stourhead gardens. But we also have a wide range of less well known but equally lovely stately homes; beautiful gardens; lively farm parks and award-winning museums you definitely won't want to miss. To the front of the Swan; across the car park; is the River Garden; which borders the river Wylye. Enjoy a drink sitting at one of the picnic tables; or sprawl on the lawn if that's your thing! This is our own section of the river and it's free for residents to fish! Please Note: We are a Non-smoking accommodation. No pets permitted in the rooms (Only in the bar areas). All Children are Welcome. (Families and Couples only); "single group bookings must contact the hotel directly to make booking arrangements. Parking for 90 vehicles available across the road from the premises. Check-in time: 14:00 Check-out time: 10:30
