John Langley

Born in Newbury, Berkshire
Born on 2nd of November 1852
Died on 5th of November 1925

During a lengthy academic career at Cambridge University Langley produced ground-breaking research in physiology, most notably in the area of chemical receptors. He was appointed Professor in 1903, 20 years after becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society. Langley ran The Journal of Physiology, and served as vice-president of the Royal Society for a time.
