The Royal Oak is the first ArtHouse Hotel in England. Its a concept created by Proprietor Janelle Tresidder to bring high quality original art into an English hotel. At the Royal Oak patrons have something really worthwhile to view whilst meeting friends, eating, drinking, chatting or staying overnight. The hotel has recently been refurbished. The accommodation now offers 8 beautifully presented en-suite bedrooms. Original paintings by international and local artists adorn the walls giving each room its own distinctive character and theme.

You won't be disappointed in any one of our eight spacious, artfully themed and beautifully presented, ensuite rooms with extra long 68 double beds. Original paintings by international and local artists adorn the walls giving each room its own distinctive character and theme. Breakfast of your choice is included in room rates and available from 7.30.

The Gallery is a unique place to enjoy breakfast, coffee, lunch or an evening meal. An exhibition of top quality paintings and jewellery by local artists creates a relaxed and interesting eating space. Fancy indulging in a cream tea - we do that too!
