Northamptonshire home of the Duke of Buccleuch and his Montagu ancestors since 1528. A 500-year-old Tudor Monastic building, gradually enlarged until French style addition of 1695 led to the sobriquet “The English Versailles”. Outstanding collection of fine arts from the Buccleuch Collection:16th century carpets, 17th, 18th century furniture, tapestries, porcelain and paintings. Incomparable Armoury and Ceremonial Coach.

Extensive parkland with historic avenues of trees, woodlands, lakes and riverside walks. Plant Centre in attractive old walled garden. Tearooms within the refurbished Stable Block adjacent to the House, which together with the Adventure Woodland Playarea (open subject to weather conditions, Parents should supervise children at all times) and Gift Shop open weekends and daily throughout August. Educational groups throughout the year, by prior appointment. Admission: House and Park: Adults £6, OAP/Child £5. Park only: Adults £1.50, OAP/Child £1. Wheelchair visitors free.
