We The George Hotel are Ashford's oldest inn, being in the region of 500 years old. It has been suggested that the amazing oak beams which form the structure of this traditional coach house are from and old broken ship. We've recently been refurbished, having modernised the decor of the premises in keeping with the traditional character of our historic building. We have 14 well equipped, comfortable rooms, available at a great price. Ashford, once voted the fourth best place to live in the United Kingdom Ashford lies on the Great Stour river, the M20 motorway, and the South Eastern Main Line and High Speed 1 railways, making a great transport link. Ashford benefits from an unrivalled location in the UK with a central location and excellent rail, road, air and sea links it is perfectly placed to offer a choice of transport links to Europe and London. The Eurostar passenger service to Paris takes just two hours, while Lille is 57 minutes away. Freight and passenger traffic passes through the Eurotunnel departure point at nearby Folkestone, taking just 35 minutes to Calais. Road links connect Ashford with most European cities within a day and the Port of Dover is within easy reach – some 25 minutes.
