Herefordshire Reports

Hay-on-Wye, Herefordshire

Review of Hay-on-Wye by Peter Harries on May 31st, 2007
Resident of the town and although what I am about to say is negative I would like to stress that it is a beautiful area with genuine friendly people so is well worth a visit. Its downside, at time of writing, is finding good and fairly priced eating establishments. At present in the good food category and at a fair price there is only the Old Black Lion. Other establishments are either marking time and sadly in one case, the Kiverts has suffered rapid decline. Comments from customers in my business have included "Like fawlty towers" and "the worst meal I've ever eaten. With the honorary exception of the Old Black Lion visitors who want a good meal should head out to the Stag at Titley,(30 Mins drive) an establishment with a great track record and fair prices for the consistent quality of meals they produce
