Charles Prestwich Scott
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Bath, Bath
Born on 26th of October 1846
Died on 1st of January 1932

CP Scott, born in Bath in 1846, was editor of The Manchester Guardian for more than half a century (1872 1929) and its owner from 1907 until his death in 1932. Incredibly between 1895 and 1906 he managed to combine that editorship with his work as Liberal MP for Leigh. Scott was of independent mind and liberal views, not afraid to make a stand against the Boer War for example, though he tended to decry what he considered militant actions taken by groups like the suffragettes and Irish rebels.
