Born 1783. Died 1863 - English sportsman.

British heavyweight boxing champion (1806-08). Took up horse-racing and his horses won the Derby in 1832, 1846 and 1854. Was MP for Pontefract from 1823 to 1837. Fathered 24 children by two wives.
